Data methodology and trust
DevScope separates public source data, historical snapshots, rule-based calculations, and AI inference. Unknown values stay unknown; we do not present fabricated precision for revenue or downloads.
Apple public data
Apple public APIApple storefrontApp names, developers, versions, prices, ratings, rating counts, categories, descriptions, and screenshots primarily come from the Apple iTunes Search API and public storefront pages. DevScope is not affiliated with Apple.
Snapshots and changes
DevScope snapshotFollowed entities are captured under a rate limit. The first capture establishes a baseline; events are emitted only for verified differences between two known snapshots. The default interval is 24 hours, so this is not real-time monitoring.
Rule-based analysis
DevScope calculationPortfolio statistics, product patterns, and opportunity signals are deterministic DevScope calculations over public metadata, not official Apple conclusions.
Editorial and inclusion standards
DevScope does not submit every retrievable record to search engines. App pages need complete identity, description, version, store link, screenshots, and at least 100 public ratings. Developer portfolios normally need at least two qualifying apps and 1,000 combined ratings. Pages below the threshold remain available for research but are marked noindex.
Screenshot research
Screenshots come from developers' public App Store materials and remain their property. DevScope adds value through an editorial category framework, complete-sequence curation, analysis of first-frame hooks and narrative order, and links to app and portfolio research. Single-app asset pages are not submitted to search engines on their own.
AI inference
AI inferenceAI feasibility and strategy text is research assistance and may be incomplete or wrong. It should not be the sole basis for investment, legal, medical, or business decisions.
Revenue & downloads estimates
Third-party sourceApple does not publish exact app-level downloads or revenue. These figures come from a third-party model that infers them from public signals (rankings, ratings, review-count changes) — they are NOT Apple official data. Values are shown as estimated ranges, always labeled “Estimated”, with their source and capture time (capturedAt). Storefront affects the estimate (US only in the first release). Do not use them for financial, investment, or legal decisions. Only signed-in users generate them, one app at a time, on demand — DevScope never bulk-estimates or calls the third-party service on page load.
